Tea Offering is a community-based art project developed during an artist residency at the Mandel Art Incubator at Musrara School of Art in Jerusalem. Over the course of a year, the project grew out of weekly encounters with long-time women residents of the Musrara neighborhood, who opened their homes for tea and conversation. Through photographs of the women, their homes, handmade works, personal objects, and shared stories, the project unfolds a collective feminine narrative of the neighborhood, the city, and the country.
At its center is Domestic Space, a large-scale digital collage composed of hundreds of photographs. The work evokes patterned floor tiles, patchwork, and kaleidoscopic imagery, combining objects and architectural details from the women’s homes with items from the artist’s own grandmothers’ homes. By bringing personal, domestic, and intergenerational histories together, Tea Time transforms the home into a space of memory, intimacy, and collective storytelling.
The project also includes portraits, photographs of handmade objects, and two teapot images that echo the ritual of gathering over tea.
