7 Minutes in Nakanojo . 2020 . 7 min Video Loop

7 Minutes in Nakanojo was created during Covid19 under restrictions, commissioned by Nakanojo Biennale remote residency program. The video shows my interaction with 7 chosen sites in Nakanojo, including fields, rivers, temples and bridges, filmed especially by the Nakanojo Team.

As a traveling artist, my work is usually site specific, trying to reflect a certain place and time. I like to express my relations with geography, environment, and culture of a specific place. Since traveling was not possible during covid, I created new ways & solutions in order to “travel” in my home studio. I used projections of far places in Nakanojo county to create an orchestrated set up of the places I would like to visit. I performed with the projections so my body becomes an active part of the scenery, interacting and merging with the landscape.

Supported by Nakanojo Biennale, Japan.
